Same old fluff!

Is it just me or is it the same old problems wrapped up in a different package?

Recently I have noticed  that I find myself reading more and more articles and saying over and over, is this not the same old problem but bound up in a different wrapping?

In a short space of time we have explored the 70/20/10 and the lack of resource, the need for competency models to map behaviours where we are should be trying to map against Talent,  to reduced career advice causing major lack of right people and right jobs.

Why do we continue this never ending spiral of complexity in order to confuse and detract from what really is the key problem and insist on using overpriced and complicated software and ideals, in order to provide the miracle solutions we perceive we need?

I have to wonder if we are caught up in the world of fluff and bluff, just to hide the fact that everyone is full of smoke and mirrors.  Are we not just making things more complicated by trying to fix multiple challenges by inviting more contributors?  Do we not expand the problem by adding more challenges?  Can we not just for once stop and smell the roses!?

The world has become the greedy monster we have made it – we have fed it bluff and stuffed it with fluff in order to make money and grow but what we have forgotten is what makes it really tick and what is important – people doing jobs that they are good at, that they believe in, take pride in,doing them well and providing a service that everyone appreciates.

We have gone through the Midas era and now find that what we have left is not what we actually wanted.  We can’t change the mistakes we have and are making and therefore blame others for the problem.  We didn’t wish for that we only wanted to earn a crust…..  Well you know what, you got what you really wished for – riches, rewards and fame and many have and are still earning that crust but that is now taking away the bread and butter of what we built our industrial revolution on.  We were great but now we are lost, lost amongst what we have given away, taken or won without scruples.  Does a conscience still exist or have we also lost that ability to feel bad enough to change?  Who knows?

Whilst we are still led by fluff and bluff and live amongst smoke and mirrors, all we can hope for is the odd glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel, the brave heart that will make the change and the evangelist who will pave the way.  Getting back to basics is the real way – why not join us few in the search for what we were really built on and see if we can give back what we once had………  vote yes if you are willing to explore making the change and lets build a community of change!
